About Us

Thorncrete Studio was born out of family tradition, and blossomed through state of the art training into the leading central PA resource for fine custom concrete finishes.

My skills were handed down through generations. My earliest memories include going along to my Dad’s jobsites where I always had finishing tools in my hands. He taught me to respect the process and to always create beautiful enduring work. I loved concrete immediately and have never lost that passion.

Eventually, I moved to South Carolina where I started my own business based on the same principles. Over the course of 10 years, I poured thousands of yards of concrete in residential and light commercial applications such as pool decks, patios, sidewalks, driveways, stairs, house foundations and slabs.

Having had success in traditional concrete, I wanted to jump into decorative concrete. I sought training from the best in the business. I took classes at the Decorative Concrete Institute and quickly excelled in stamped, textured and acid stained concrete. I then took intensive training at The Concrete Countertop Institute with Jeff Girard, pioneer of engineered concrete countertops. This brought together my hard-earned concrete experience, my decorative concrete skills and the latest three-dimensional concrete artwork techniques to open up the endless possibilities of concrete countertops, sinks, fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, fire pits and more.

I now focus on continuing my father’s tradition of pride in quality work, bringing it to the cutting edge of custom, one-of-a-kind, functional concrete art for residential, commercial, and retail applications in central PA, Philadelphia, Pittsburg and NYC.
